Screening tests that find abnormal cells or HPV before symptoms appear.
-
2
Colposcopy and biopsy
The cervix is examined under magnification and a small sample is taken to confirm cancer.
-
3
MRI and PET-CT
Show the size of the tumour and whether it has spread to nearby organs or lymph nodes.
Treatment options
The right plan depends on the stage, the type of cancer and your overall health. Most patients receive more than one of these.
Surgery
For early-stage cancer, removal of the womb and nearby tissue (radical hysterectomy) can be curative.
Chemotherapy
Given on its own or alongside other treatment for locally advanced cervical cancer.
Referral for other treatment
Locally advanced cervical cancer often needs treatment we do not offer. Our team refers you to a partner centre and continues chemotherapy and follow-up with you here.

Common questions about सर्वाइकल कैंसर
Largely, yes. The HPV vaccine (best given at ages 9 to 14) and regular screening from age 30 prevent most cases.
Early-stage cervical cancer is curable in most women. Even locally advanced disease is often controlled with combined treatment.
Some patients have temporary loose motions or urinary irritation during treatment. Your oncologist will explain the side effects of your plan and how they are managed.
